Senate says NO?

Our government disgusts me.

And being a government employee, I am in more of a position to say that than most.

Perhaps I shouldn't say the government itself disgusts me, as our representative democracy is the best form of government on the planet. No, I think it is probably more apt to say that our elected government officials disgust me.

In Washington, meanwhile, Senate Republicans scuttled an attempt by Sen. Hillary Clinton to establish an independent, bipartisan panel patterned after the 9/11 Commission to investigate what went wrong with federal, state and local governments' response to the hurricane.

The Republican controlled senate apparently decided that no independent, bi-partisan investigation is necessary. No, they feel able to tackle the investigation themselves. An investigation that will no doubt produce numerous scapegoats and various resignations - while avoiding the real issues, and most importantly FIXING the problems. A Senate controlled committee investigating the Bush administration's incompetence would be like Saddam's relatives trying him for war crimes.

How do people like us make a difference? Theresa and I sit and stew in our hatred of Bush and marvel at his idiocy day after day. His administration has done incalculable damage to this country in the past 5 years - the fallout of which will be seen for the next two decades.

Swiss anyone?

I need a release. A place to be rude and uncouth... to share ideas, frustrations, and random hatred. It matters not if anyone reads it.

Hello blogger.com - I'll post my cheese for the world to not read.
